An exciting opportunity exists to join our Federation Project team. Having secured a funding solution for the Project in May 2023, we’ve started mobilising to site. Federation is one of the highest-grade base metals development projects in Australia The Federation deposit hosts high-grade zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation and is located in 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee. – this is a new mine site opening not to be missed!

The Role
Embark on an exhilarating journey with Federation Mine as we evolve from our foundational stages to full-scale production. As a Mine Geologist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of our brand new mine. This position offers you the unique opportunity to contribute significantly to our project, blending your expertise in geology with a passion for innovation and trailblazing in a dynamic setting. Flexible and Convenient Work Schedule:
We understand the importance of balancing professional commitments with personal life. Our 8 days on, 6 days off roster pattern allows for this balance, with direct FIFO arrangements from Brisbane and Sydney to Cobar. For those in Melbourne, Adelaide, or Canberra, travel includes a convenient connection via Sydney, providing easy access to our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Geological logging or diamond core and/or RC samples as part of a broader team.
- Co-ordinating field assistance involved in sampling and core processing.
- Mapping and sampling of underground development.
- Minimise dilution by monitoring ore drive position and direction.
- Identification and evaluation of resource development opportunities.
- Generation of high-quality, brief reports
- Update and maintain mine structural and ore models
About You
- You hold a Tertiary Degree in Geology.
- You possess an Unrestricted C Class Driver's License (manual).
- You can obtain a National Police Clearance.
- You're an exceptional communicator who effortlessly connects with diverse teams.
- You bring a wealth of experience, with at least 5 years in underground mining operations.
- You're proficient in geological modelling software such as Leapfrog, Deswik, Surpac, etc.
