This role is a permanent full-time position working an 8/6 roster based in Cloncurry at the Great Australia Mine (GAM). The Role: True North Copper is seeking Mine Engineer to join the expanding team at the Great Australian Mine (GAM) Cloncurry. The Mine Engineer role is to ensure that daily processing activities occur in a safe, productive, and cost-efficient manner. This includes mine planning activities such as pit, haul road, stockpile, and dump designs. This role works closely with the production team towards continuous safe and efficient production. Key responsibilities Assist the department staff and others, especially at times where inflexible deadlines need to be worked to. Timely delivery of pit, stockpile and dump designs and periodic reports. Oversee the compilation of daily and weekly mine production reports. Short term and medium-term planning to ensure operational requirements and budget is being achieved. Ability to motivate, mentor and develop others to strengthen effort and engagement amongst the workforce. Operate on tasks within specific timeframes in a safe, efficient, manner in compliance with True North goals. Utilise your design skills to develop rolling weekly excavator plans and schedules for the mining operation. Provide and implement designs, including pit and dump design, dozer push, rehabilitation, and water management designs. Coordinate plans and schedules and monitoring of actual progress with benchmarks. Assist in the management of the weekly dig/dump plans. Implementation and compliance of the Weekly Plan and site Safety, Health and Environmental standards to ensure safe and sustainable mine standards. Provide information to relevant staff to assist in reporting requirements. Providing guidance and input into the drill and blast requirements. Outlining guidelines and performance expectations for others to follow, ensuring standards are met and or exceeded. To be successful you will need to have: Hold a current Driver’s “C”. Have the right to work in Australia. Pre-employment medical & D&A screening. National Police check. Tertiary Degree in Mining Engineering or other relevant disciplines, with 3 to 7 years post graduate experience in short and long term mine planning. Knowledge of Mine Operations or similar transferrable skills. Proven experience and knowledge in drill and blast design, mine planning, dump design, pit design, stockpile design and scheduling. Experience and knowledge of mine design software, preferably Surpac or Dewick. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs. Effective communicator at all levels of the business.
