We are a gold explorer and producer that is uniquely positioned to further unlock the potential of our 1200km2 land holding in the highly productive Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. Our operations at Davyhurst is located 120 km north-west of Kalgoorlie. We have a total mineral resource inventory of 2.00 Moz at an average grade of 2.5 g/t Au, and defined mineral reserves of 276koz at 1.9 g/t Au. Our tenements are also highly prospective for Nickel, Copper and Lithium.
THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced Underground Mine Geologist to join the team at Ora Banda on 8:6 day shift / 8:6 day shift / 7:7 night shift roster. Must be willing to do nightshift every third swing.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Conduct day to day mine geology activities, including face mapping, face sampling, updating all plans and sections with geology data
- Work with Engineers and Survey closely to minimise dilution and maximise recovery of the ore in development and stoping
- Assist in the interpretation of the deposits structure, lithology and mineralisation by face and wall mapping and sampling, core logging. Understand, document and communicate the geology.
- Document and communicate the underground geology activities as part of the Technical team to ensure that geology activities and mining activities are aligned to achieve a seamless mining cycle for development headings
- Actively assist with wall and backs mapping all capital development and ore development, to ensure regulatory compliance, monitor geotechnical conditions, and build the knowledge base of the deposit.
- Provide geological information to ensure the accurate reporting of ore movements, reconciliations and grade control models
- Design and supervise underground drilling programs as required
- Diamond core logging
- Contribute to the Daily and weekly planning of ore movement
- Work collaboratively with the Technical team and Mining team to ensure delivery of the daily plan, weekly plan, and 3 month schedule
- Provide instruction and training for Graduate Geologists
- Comply with company policies, standards and procedures
- Supervise/assist contractors involved in mine geology activities

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Geology from a recognised institution
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role
- Previous use of mining software – Micromine, Leapfrog, Geobank
- Ability to work as part of a small technical team
- Good communication skills
- Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
- ERT experience and willingness to join OBM’s ERT is preferred
- Current WA manual driver’s Licence
