Established mining organisation within the Bowen Basin is seeking to engage a career minded, technically capable and team focused Mining Engineerwith proven leadership qualities and a desire to grow.
About the role
Working in Queensland's Bowen Basin in an open cut production environment, you will provide mine engineering expertise and valuable technical support to support key reporting, mine planning, production outcomes and engage with the collaborative team culture. The position offers genuine career development opportunities where you can play a key role in the success of this project.
About you
You will have a coal mining background in similar open cut coal projects coupled with Mining Engineering qualifications. Your focus on safety and continual learning will enable you to grow with this organisation and deliver against the business objectives. Ideally you will have minimum 12 months working as a Mining Engineer in open cut environments with truck and shovel fleets.
Key duties and accountabilities:
- Accountable for short - medium term Truck / Shovel design and scheduling
- Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cost review’s and forecasting
- Ensure dig sequence is being followed and variations are revised
- Develop and maintain the excavator design and scheduling for all primary production units
- Excellent communication skills between departments
- Identify improvements and cost savings
- Contribute to safety and compliance
- Provide technical support and advice
