Position:
Mancala is currently on the lookout for an experienced Mining Engineer to be a key participant and advisor within the Technical Services Department located in Notting Hill. You will be instrumental in the development and preparation of various project tenders from conceptual stage, feasibility studies through to handover to the project team.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and deliver cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Identify labour and material requirements in relation to the tender specifications.
- Consults with clients, subcontractors, Mancala personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve potential risks.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations.
- Ensure all estimate/tenders are accurate.
- Review contractual obligations to ensure that the projects are able to be delivered and tendered appropriately.
- Conduct research for the development of innovative mechanisms or techniques that may be required as part of the project preparation and delivery.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Read technical documents in order to prepare estimates.
- Become well versed in the use of Mancala’s tender-modelling cost sheets (MS Excel) for use in Tender preparation.
- Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable.
Requirements:
- Degree qualification in Engineering – Mining or Civil preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the mining industry
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft and AutoCAD skills desirable
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
- Energy and drive to meet personal objectives, with an open and transparent style and flexible approach
- Make sound and timely business decisions
- Ability to take direction.
