Mandalay Resources Costerfield Operation is 50km east of Bendigo. Bendigo is a vibrant city and home to approximately 120,000 residents. Bendigo has an impressive mining history and boasts a thriving arts and cultural precinct.

About The Role
Our new Mining Operations Engineerwill be a practical and safety focused team member who wants to further develop their career in underground metalliferous mining environment. Your experience will include a sound knowledge of short-term scheduling, rock mechanics and a practical knowledge of narrow vein drill and blast stoping methods.
Our newMining Operations Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:
- Constructing and setting the weekly production and development schedule followed by ongoing tracking and updating a rolling 7-day plan.
- Work with the Shift Supervisor in their daily planning activities to ensure operations follow the short-term schedule
- Underground inspections of production areas to enable efficient operation and planning
- Completion of engineering tasks such as drill and blast design, production plans, survey and monthly reporting;
- Track daily, weekly and monthly production and development activities and determine compliance against forecast
- Undertake geotechnical inspections and minor rehabilitation plans to address geotechnical issues/hazards;
- Liaise with Geology Department with regards to latest data and new information from underground operations
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering;
- Have a strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement;
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Mining Engineer (preferably with underground time completed);
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a small but focused operations team – communication to operations personnel a key focus;
- High level of understanding of underground mining activities; and
- Experience with relevant mine design software packages such Deswik.
