Our Mungari Gold Operations (MGO) are a cornerstone asset located 28km west from central Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (WA) and 600km east of Perth. Mungari has a predominantly residential workforce, with many living in Kalgoorlie Boulder, giving employees the luxury of coming home every day.
About the role
The Mine Engineer Planning reports to the Superintendent Mining Engineer and is responsible for the underground mine design, level plans and short to midterm schedule.
The role is responsible for all short to midterm mine planning, including all financial, geotechnical, geological, mining method and resourcing considerations.
Displaying a positive attitude and increasing safety awareness is essential whilst setting an example for others. Responsibilities include:
- Short-term planning - Monthly/Quarterly schedule.
- Long term scheduling - Assist development life-of-mine and budget/forecast schedules.
- Monitoring and Support - Analysis of plan compliance, efficiencies and identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Cost management - Monitor underground costs and ensure designs maximise value.
- Identify hazards and risks at early stages and eliminate or engineer controls at the design level.
About you
You will enjoy developing relationships with your peers and leaders, working in a collaborative team environment, where we are open to feedback and respect other's opinions.
You will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years underground mine engineering experience (design, planning, scheduling, and D&B)
- Proven experience identifying, understanding, and solving complex problems.
- Experience with mine design software, ideally Deswik and Aegis.
