The Opportunity
MinRes Technical Services Operations is expanding, and we are seeking Mining Geologist to join our Bald Hill site operation on a regular 8/6 roster.
As Mining Geologist you will play a crucial role to provide geological guidance to the technical services team and mining operations to maximise ore recovery with the common objective of safely producing high quality spodumene concentrate. This is achieved by having a thorough understanding of the following technical aspects of mine geology:
- Mining technique to optimize ore recovery,
- quality sample data collection,
- execution of grade control processes, and
- mine to mill reconciliations.
Your primary responsibilities may include;
- Competent use of systems and software for geological and mining data processes.
- Coordinate with mining operations and technical services to maintain ore delivery alignment with short term mine planning.
- Manage grade control planning, drilling, sampling, QA/QC, wireframing and geological modelling.
- Provide input with geology and metallurgy teams to problem solve challenges and identify opportunities to maximise ore recovery.
- Assist with preparing reconciliation and reporting of mine to mill data and compliance to plan.
- Complete geological test work and analysis.
What is required?
- Tertiary level education in Geology;
- 2-5 years’ experience in the mining and exploration industry;
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Previous lithium experience his highly desirable
- Grade control experience.
- Proficient with Surpac, Leapfrog, MX Deposit, acQuire software packages preferred.
- Conversant with mining databases and data management.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI;
- Well-developed communication skills– both oral and written;
- Technical reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Meet deadlines and manage priorities;
- Attention to detail;
