About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Ministry Team Leader! You will be responsible to facilitate The Salvation Army Mission and local area mission plans in the Glenorchy area.
Responsibilities include
- Facilitate and coordinate small groups where faith issues can be explored
- Work closely with other mission expressions and enterprise leaders to create Christian faith pathways for people who connect through other mission expressions and enterprises
- Lead a disciple and leadership-making culture, providing opportunity for people to volunteer/serve in line with their gifts and abilities
- Actively lead and inspire team in relation to the vision, mission, and values of TSA both internally and externally
- Respond to pastoral and spiritual needs of the community in line with TSA values and mission
This is a fixed-term part-time position, 24 hours per week, 3 days per week, contracted for 12 months, based in Glenorchy, TAS.
You will have
- Diploma of Theology, Ministry, or significant demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills
- Strong commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army
- Ability to disciple an individual on the journey to and with Jesus, offer pastoral assistance and prayer
- Self-motivated and demonstrates a high level of initiative
- Sound communication skills to interact positively with a variety of people
- Demonstrated community engagement experience in a non-for-profit sector
- Demonstrated understanding of The Salvation Army
- Demonstrated ability to work with volunteers
- A Current and Valid Driver's Licence
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to offer holistic support across a number of life domains
