This well-established company is seeking a Senior IT Modern Workplace Engineer specialising in managing and maintaining devices running common operating systems (including Windows, MacOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android), plus the automation of policy management and deployment of applications, devices, features, security, compliance requirements, and identity/authentication management across the organisation.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Ensuring the Modern Workplace / End User Compute platforms are well maintained, optimised, secure, and stable within Azure (Virtual), Head Office (physical), and Edge Computing
- Supporting and maintaining end-user devices throughout their lifecycle, including computers and mobile devices across Azure/O365, AAD, Exchange Online, Intune, Teams
- Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (MSCCM)
- Windows 10 / 11
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Remote Desktop Services, AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) and Windows 365
- Identity Management, Storage, and Backup solutions
- Microsoft Teams Calling platform and cloud telephony devices
- Developing, maintaining, and managing standard operating environments to modern standards and updates via Intune/Endpoint management toolsets.
- Building Azure Virtual and Physical Desktop environments, encompassing application packaging and deployment.
- Maintenance, upgrades, testing, and enhancements of environment-wide configurations including user policies, device policies, security policies, firmware, drivers, agents, and automation scripts through enterprise-grade endpoint management platforms (Intune)
- Delivering and supporting Microsoft 365 services on end-user devices virtual or physical.
- Providing Level 3 support, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting across a wide variety of technologies.
- Designing, creating, and maintaining software packages and deployment scripts for applications and updates using Azure. This includes ensuring compatibility and compliance with organisational standards.
Skills and experience required;
- Tertiary degree in Computer Science or Engineering,
- 5+ years' experience in a Windows platform administration role in an enterprise environment.
- Strong subject matter expertise in modern Windows platform management, Microsoft Intune (including managing mobile devices with MDM), Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, and general Microsoft 365 technology configuration and administration.
- Experience with application packaging, and the process of creating a new validated SOE.
