Coast Transport Services Pty Ltd (T/A Central Coast Taxis) provides a customer oriented 24/7 taxi service for residents and visitors to the district, which spans some 1800 square kilometres from the Hawkesbury River to Catherine Hill Bay and the hinterland.
Our fleet consists of over 60 taxis including but not limited to wheelchair accessible (WAT) and maxi taxis, which are a huge success on the Central Coast. Wherever possible we offer passengers a choice of vehicle options for their transport requirements. All vehicles are equipped with modern communications and navigational systems.

We are currently seeking a Mechanic to join our team and assist to enhance and deliver on our operations across the Central Coast.
The position is full-time and is based at our location in West Gosford, NSW.
Key Responsibilties
The role of Mechanic will include the following responsibilities and job duties;
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on taxi vehicles including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid checks to prevent breakdowns and ensure vehicle safety.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Perform inspections on vehicles to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory to track vehicle history and ensure efficient operations.
- Collaborate with other team members, including drivers and management, to prioritise repairs and minimise downtime.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.
- Any other relevant duties or tasks as required from time to time
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicle makes and models, including hybrids and diesel vehicles.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Experience with Hybrid vehicles is an advantage
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Length of Experience
5 years minimum experience in light vehicle mechanics
