ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Music & Drama Coordinator to provide assistance to our Music and Drama Departments to ensure the smooth running of our world class productions and performances. This is a hands-on role that will see you leading administrative, logistical, and creative tasks required to deliver successful Music and Drama events for the School.
Music and drama are integral parts of school life at Camberwell Grammar School. Our thriving drama program includes full scale school productions and musicals involving students from Pre-Prep to Year 12.
We have a long-standing tradition of music making at Camberwell Grammar School. We have two symphony orchestras, three string orchestras, two concert bands, two stage bands, various chamber ensembles and the three school choirs. Major school concerts and student recitals are regular features of the music calendar; many of which are held in our state of the art Performing Arts Centre, capable of accommodating a full symphony orchestra.
This is a full time 12-month fixed term contract commencing in April 2024, in a progressive, creative, supportive and well-resourced team environment.
ABOUT YOU
Ideally you will have experience in production coordination for Music and Drama, but we are also interested in applicants who have experience in one stream with the passion to learn the other.
Knowledge & Skills
· At least 2 years' previous experience in event coordination/management from beginning to end and all that's in between within the performing arts industry (e.g. run sheets, event logistics, event plans, ticketing, seating charts etc.)
· A minimum of 2 years' stage management experience (Preferred)
· Knowledge and experience with Music/Drama set ups (e.g. orchestral seating, space requirements for music/drama performances, sight lines, etc.)
· Experience managing diverse event formats and audiences
· Outstanding administration skills with an eye for detail (pulling together reports, documents etc.)
· A strong appreciation and passion for the Performing Arts
· Exceptional timetabling / scheduling skills - peripheral vision and strategic time lining
· Excellent client management and customer service skills
· Outstanding time management and organisational skills with the ability to juggle several tasks and responsibilities at once
· Strong computer skills in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office as well as experience using databases - Music Monitor (advantageous)
· Experience in creating production programs, designing posters and basic video editing.
· The ability to work out of hours to attend rehearsals and productions
Qualifications
· Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production), Event Management
· Working with Children Check
· National Crime Check
