The opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Contracts and Procurement Officer to deliver high-quality assistance to internal and external stakeholders with the daily operations of procurement and contracting activities. This role includes managing tenders, evaluations, and contract management while championing continuous improvement of procurement functions across the Council.
Key duties include:
- Assist with the Council’s procurement processes, including developing, preparing, and advertising Expressions of Interest (EOIs), requests for quotations, and tenders.
- Supervise the Purchasing/Stores Officer and store function at the Works Depot.
- Coordinate contract establishment and supplier onboarding.
- Develop and update procurement and contract management systems, processes, and templates.
- Maintain the Council’s online tendering portal and manage tender openings, evaluations, and associated reports.
What you need
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in Contract Management, Procurement, Business, or related discipline.
- Experience in the application and supervision of tenders and contracts, including tender documentation, contract management, payment approvals, and performance monitoring.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Understanding of Local Government in NSW.
