The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Credit Manager to join our finance team and play a crucial role in driving efficiency, compliance, and strategic leadership.
You will have a unique opportunity to develop the team and automate manual processes, implement best practices, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Your role will be pivotal in delivering collection targets and fostering clear communication both within the team and with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of 7 credit professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Design and implement strategies to maximise company cash flow with minimal impact on sales.
- Ensure collection targets are achieved across the team.
- Drive the project to automate manual processes, from scoping out new technology to planning an implementation.
- Develop and implement new SOPs to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Monitor debtors and prepare monthly DSO and AR reports.
- Establish and maintain strong communication channels within the team and with key stakeholders, including cross-functional collaboration with sales and finance departments.
- Manage and proactively develop relationships with customers
- Implement strategies to assess and mitigate credit risk, working closely with the team to set appropriate credit limits and terms.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Experience/Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in a related field
- Proven experience in credit management, with a track record of implementing process improvements
- Strong leadership experience and the ability to lead by example and be hands on when required
- Familiarity with credit automation tools and technologies
- Strong knowledge of credit policies, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
