The National Facilities Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Property Services, will be responsible for facilities management and maintenance activities at the Bureau's offices and observing sites. Supported by a Regional Manager West (WA, SA and NT) and a Regional Manager East (QLD, NSW, ACT and TAS), the National Facilities Manager will be directly responsible for Victorian property activities and oversee the West and East Regions ensuring that property management and maintenance activities are delivered that provide safe, compliant, and fit for purpose facilities for the Bureau to achieve our objectives.
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:
- Extensive experience in facilities management and maintenance.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and team management skills including the ability to manage teams remotely.
- A thorough understanding of the relevant laws and statutory requirements relating to the built environment.
- Advanced contract management skills.
- A proven ability to plan, prioritise and deliver.
- The ability to operate with a strategic focus.
The key duties of the position include
- Complying with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Regional Facilities Management team.
- Directly manage the Victorian Facilities Management team.
- Oversee the coordination of all Bureau facilities management and maintenance activities within budget parametres.
- Review all Regional unplanned maintenance issues as they arise to determine the most appropriate corrective action. Investigate and report on services and asset failures and other incidents.
- Ensure that site records, facility drawings and plans are kept up to date with all facility and services maintenance alterations.
- Monitor contractor performance against key indicators and provide regular reports on contractor performance.
- Oversee activities with the Bureau's Property Services Provider relating to facilities management ensuring compliance, value for money and timely delivery.
- Provide assistance to the Property Services Leasing team on leasing activities.
- Be aware of, and apply as necessary, the principles and practices of the various elements of the Bureau's Social Justice policies.
