The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be responsible for optimising linehaul operations, resources and equipment to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall service reliability, ensuring timely and effective transportation of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage National Linehaul operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise transportation routes and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with sites, drivers and subcontractors to streamline operations
- Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Manage budgets, forecast needs, and control costs related to linehaul operations
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience within the logistics industry, ideally with fleet experience on a national scale
- Sound knowledge and understanding of industry regulations and standards particularly in regard to BFM
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
