Executive Qantas Ground Services (QGS) contract
12-month fixed-term contract based in Mascot, Sydney

QGS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways and we’re responsible for providing ground handling services to the Qantas Group, including baggage handling, ramp services and warehouse freight handling.
Your role as National Manager QGS Operations, will see you leading all facets of the QGS business – supporting ongoing business strategy development, ensuring operational excellence for all of our customers across the Qantas Group, and implementing and supporting core people and operational performance processes. You will be responsible for engaging our people and ensuring they have the right support and training to deliver the operation. You will drive recruitment activity, stakeholder and customer engagement and ensure that safety is the number one priority across the business. You will also be responsible for office management, compliance activities and providing operational support where required.
You’ll have –
Previous experience in a managerial role with demonstrated success leading a strategy, as well as coaching, motivating and developing teams
Strong customer management experience in a business partnering model
Experience in developing strategies and implementation
Extensive experience in managing complex case, performance and injury management
Success in managing change within an operational environment
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and or negotiate at all levels
Experience in administration/operations management and business monitoring.
Knowledge of or ability to interpret Awards and EBAs
Experience with the management of industrial relations issues
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with proven decision-making skills
Demonstrated success in monitoring and reporting
Well-developed organisational skills and ability to set own priorities
Experience in recruitment assessment
Intermediate or above proficiency with IT applications including Microsoft suite
