Our client is part of a global manufacturing leader that has been operating for over 120 years and employs more than 9,000 people. Within Australia they are market leaders in bakery products and ingredients and are looking to recruit a National Quality Manager based in Sydney who can take responsibility for 6 baking sites across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
About the Opportunity
Reporting through to the Head of Quality, this role will take responsibility for 5 direct reports - Quality Managers in each site and be a true 2IC. You will be the custodian of quality and be recognised as the Subject Matter Expert on food safety. You will develop and implement the National Quality Plan and drive HACCP, GMP and NPD activities. With new ERP software and systems being introduced, and a focus on continuous improvement, it will be expected that this individual can drive projects and troubleshoot. There will be a high level of coaching and mentoring within the role, and the opportunity to strengthen customer relationships. It is a cross functional role working closely with regulatory, NPD and the senior leadership team to guarantee outcomes and met expectations for new product launches, Quality KPI’s and audits, and risk mitigation.
To Be Successful
You will need to be tertiary qualified in either food technology or a Science based degree, with at least 5 years’ experience as a Quality Manager and be active in the quality and food safety space for over 10 years in food manufacturing. Key competencies will be strong leadership skills, and the ability to demonstrate empathy and passion for what you do! That strategic and hands on approach will work best, with the ability to demonstrate calmness under pressure, energy, and business acumen. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to influence and think outside the square.
