About the role:
As the Specification Manager your primary objective will be the management of the National Specification sales team. Working with the Business Development and Trade Sales team, you will concentrate on securing specifications with architects and interior designers, cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders, while ensuring sales and market share growth. You will also play a key role in the generation of new business, procurement, and to the management of key accounts with architects, designers & builders.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Building strong relationships with an existing portfolio of architects, clients, and designers
- Generating new leads and developing potential opportunities for growth
- Providing clients with expert advice while promoting the company’s products and services
- Building and managing a pipeline of projects and opportunities and securing product specifications
- Tracking and managing all client activity and projects in the CRM
- Preparing for and facilitating meetings with clients
- Negotiating and influencing internally within the company
About you:
- A minimum of five years' work experience in a similar role with inherent Business Development skills and proven leadership capability
- You will have a demonstrated ability to win specifications while identifying growth opportunities and developing effective strategies
- You are an effective communicator and have the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, business partners, and industry contacts
- You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software and have the ability to produce and analyse detailed reporting
- You are a numbers-driven individual and believe in a structured KPI and measurable way of working and you will manage your team and accountability as such
- A background in interior design, decorative building, and Architecture Development Method (ADM) is desirable
- An existing network within the industry is considered highly advantageous
