Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Transport Manager to oversee our transportation processes across the country. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, transportation and fleet management, with a focus on optimizing operational efficiency and meeting KPIs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation operations and improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the transportation team, ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage a team of state supervisors, coordinators, drivers, and other staff, providing leadership, guidance, and support as needed.
- Fleet management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Manage relationships with transportation partners, including carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Monitor and analyse transportation costs and performance metrics (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and manage departmental budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively, and expenses are kept within budgetary limits.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of transportation services.
- Follow procedures and communicate effectively with internal and external team.
Skills & Experience needed for this role:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role, with proven experience in fleet management, logistics, and freight forwarding experience (Preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful operational strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred)
