Suncorp Group have an exciting role for a Natural Perils Pricing Analyst to join our team on a 12-month contract. This role is open to applicants based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. The purpose of this Natural Perils Pricing Analyst role is to develop and implement natural peril address pricing models and implement infrastructure and monitoring processes to assess the effectiveness of these models.What you'll do:
- Build, blend and implement individual address and catastrophe natural peril pricing models such as cyclone, bushfire, earthquake, flood, hail, storm, demand surge & underinsurance.
- Use a combination of data science, environmental scientific research, insurance claim experience and external expertise to develop above natural peril models.
- Formally track the effectiveness of price changes performed.
- Understand impacts of pricing changes such as; premium change impacts on new business, renewal, lapse, cancellation rates, concentration risk, and reinsurance.
- Respond to and engage with multiple functions of the business to share pricing knowledge and provide information around natural peril risk and claims experience.
- Understand, formulate and prepare portfolio business case impact analysis and recommendations for key business stakeholders.
- Desirable academic backgrounds include actuarial studies, data science, climate science and other analytics backgrounds.
- Strong academic track record

- Basic exposure to programming such as SAS, Python, R, Excel and relational databases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Motivation to build positive and constructive working relationships with key stakeholders
