Stepping Stone is a registered NDIS provider. We provide group-based and individual support services, including social and community participation, pre-vocational opportunities, social and recreational activities, employment and education supports, housing and advocacy, Support Coordination, and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching.

Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching focus on supporting participants to direct their lives, not just their services. By providing flexible and adaptable services, we aim to assist participants in building and maintaining a resilient network of formal (such as mainstream health services) and informal support (such as families and caregivers). This position is also designed to build capacity and resilience through solid and respectful relationships to support people with psychosocial disabilities to live whole and contributing lives.

In addition to working at the Head Office, other flexible arrangements will be provided, such as working from home and in the community (including home visits).

Stepping Stone Clubhouse Inc. is seeking an NDIS Support Coordinator / Psychosocial Recovery Coach to fill an initial 12-month position with a potential extension to a permanent contract. 

In line with the NDIS guidelines, you are required to undertake the following:

  • Welcome and engage the NDIS participant and any support to ensure they are fully aware of the role of Support Coordination / Recovery Coaching.
  • Support the NDIS participant to help them understand and implement their NDIS plan.
  • Ensure the NDIS participant has a service agreement and understands its contents, terms, and conditions as part of the engagement process with all service providers.
  • Act as a central reference point to support and build the NDIS participant's capacity in coordinating their NDIS-funded, mainstream, and informal support.
  • Promote and support NDIS participants in exercising choice and control when signing service agreements with service providers and utilising their support services.
  • Working alongside the NDIS participant and supporting them in connecting with the most suitable support services enables them to achieve their key goals in the NDIS plan.
  • Coordinate a broad range of service providers and ensure a team approach to addressing the support needs of the NDIS participants / external referrals.
  • Ensure all services engaged in support of the NDIS participant have a shared understanding of the elements of the NDIS Plan and that all service providers work in a collaborative and integrated way.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the support's effectiveness and provide detailed progress reports to the NDIA as required within an expected timeframe.
  • Seek feedback from all relevant stakeholders (including, but not limited to, the participant, their family and caregivers, supervisor, and colleagues) and always strive to refine practice frameworks.
  • Meet all data entry, administrative and reporting requirements for NDIS regarding the provision of Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching.
  • Ensure Policy and Procedures are adhered to and always align with Stepping Stone's values.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NDIS systems, pricing arrangements, limits, practices, and legislation, knowledge of the Mental Health systems, NDIS-funded and non-funded mainstream services, and formal and informal support.

The successful candidates will be rewarded in line with SCHADS (2010) Award starting from 4.1 depending on their experience and skillsets, plus superannuation, with the opportunity to access exceptional salary packaging options (salary package up to $15,900 per annum for each FBT year plus a further $2,650 meal and entertainment benefits. Plus, additional benefits, including novated vehicle leases and CBB Reward Club membership). Includes laptop, phone, and reimbursement of km used in own vehicle for work purposes.

About You:  

To be considered for this role:

Must-Have:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or can acquire one.
  • A tertiary qualification in peer work or mental health (minimum of Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate IV in Mental Health) or equivalent training.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and preferably lived experience of the impact of severe mental ill-health, recovery, well-being, and capacity to work with people with multiple and complex support needs.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS and navigating the support system, including accessing relevant community resources.
  • At least two years of experience in the SC/ PRC role or a similar position in mental health-related work.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Skills and experience in coordination, collaboration, facilitation, critical thinking, evaluation, and problem-solving.
  • A current Open Driver's Licence (QLD).
  • Excellent computer literacy and IT competencies with Microsoft programs and Client Management Systems.
  • Excellent time management skills 

Desirable:

  • A lived experience of Mental Health.
