We are seeking a motivated, task oriented, reliable NDIS Support Workers in the Mackay region.

Position Summary:

Support Workers will be required to provide Support to NDIS participants in the community and in our Supported Independent Living houses..  

Responsibilities

• Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plans
• Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing and grooming
• Provide transportation assistance to clients
• Provide respite care to clients and their families
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress
• Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team
• Follow health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field

Requirements

• A minimum of a high school or equivalent
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support or working towards completion highly regarded
• Experience working with people with disabilities highly regarded. 
• Day shifts, nights, sleepovers, weekends
• Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Experience with CRM software and NDIS portals
• Understanding of health and safety regulations
• Ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding the different support needs of clients based on their abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements
• Basic care and first aid skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
