The Role:
The position for hire is a Network Analyst and will be for a full time basis at $105,000-115,000 per annum, and will be based at their Melbourne CBD office.
The Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate Microland's network architecture to develop specifications, data models, and diagrams that support the integration of advanced computer systems in a hybrid IT environment.
- Research, analyze, and monitor Microland's network infrastructure to ensure it is configured for optimal performance, especially in hybrid and cloud-based environments.
- Assess Microland's network operations, hardware, software, and communication processes to recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and align with the latest technological advancements.
- Provide specialist skills in supporting and troubleshooting network-related problems and emergencies, ensuring minimal downtime for Microland and its clients.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, and administer new and upgraded networks, software database applications, servers, and workstations, aligning with Microland's IT service offerings.
- Offer network programming expertise to support specific business needs and requirements, facilitating custom solutions for Microland and its clients.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and procedures for network inventory, including recording the diagnosis and resolution of network faults, tracking enhancements, and modifications.
- Continuously monitor network traffic, activity, capacity, and usage to ensure the continued integrity and optimal performance of Microland's network infrastructure.
- Work on the development, configuration, and integration of computer systems to support Microland's IT service offerings, focusing on innovative and efficient solutions.
- Engage in the continuous evaluation of the network infrastructure to ensure it supports Microland's operational requirements and the needs of its clients effectively.
- Actively assess and recommend improvements to network operations to support integrated hardware, software, communications, and operating systems enhancements.
- Provide emergency support and perform regular maintenance tasks to prevent network issues and ensure the stability of Microland's IT infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Microland's network against cyber threats, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
- Perform capacity planning and analyze network usage to forecast future requirements, ensuring Microland's network infrastructure can meet the growing demands of the business and its clients.
The Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of of experience in network administration or network engineering roles, with a track record of managing complex network environments.
- At least 5 years of proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and other networking protocols. Understanding of network standards such as IEEE 802.11, 802.3, etc.
- At least 5 years of experience with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN appliances from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
- Knowledge of security protocols, vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and firewall configuration and management.
- At least 2 years of experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) networking capabilities, including VPCs, cloud VPNs, and direct connect services.
- At least 4 years of proficiency in using network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, and NetFlow analyzers.
- Understanding of wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi standards, configuration, optimization, and security.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems, focusing on network configuration and troubleshooting aspects.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and containers (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes) and their networking aspects.
- Familiarity with data center network design, high availability configurations, and understanding of SAN/NAS storage networking.
- Experience Requirements:
- Holding relevant industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP (Cisco), or other specialized certifications in network security or cloud networking.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Experience in collaborative environments and using collaboration tools.
