We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Network Control Manager at our Perth Office on a Permanent Full Time basis.

About this role

As the Network Control Manager, you will be accountable for managing the Network Control Area, which is responsible for the 24x7 operation of the transmission and distribution network, which forms part of the vast majority of the Southwest Interconnected Network (SWIN). This includes the following key accountabilities:
 

  • Distribution network real-time network monitoring, control, and the safe and reliable operation of the entire network within limits.
  • Transmission real-time network monitoring and control, network contingency and security events as well as responding to contingency events to prevent cascading failures.
  • Process owner for Trouble Call incident management including customer restoration prioritisation and outage restoration times to assist customers recover from supply interruptions.
  • To perform the role of Western Power Incident Controller (EMT)
  • Liaison with external stakeholders, customers, and external emergency service organisations. 
  • Delivery and execution of transmission and distribution planned and unplanned switching work.


About you 

We’re seeking someone from within our workforce with experience and attributes that include:

  • Electrical trade or related technical background
  • Diploma or equivalent
  • Degree qualifications in Engineering or related discipline – desirable
  • Postgraduate qualifications in management - desirable
  • Extensive and accumulative Power System and Control practices experience and knowledge
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Demonstrated people management skills with ability to motivate and lead a multi-disciplinary team
  • Developed stakeholder and communication skills
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation/ negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
