Responsibilities
We are seeking a Network Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to join our dynamic team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our network systems.
On a day to day basis you will:
- Design and implement network infrastructure solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
- Configure and maintain network equipment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve network outages or performance degradation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise for network-related projects
- Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement network enhancements
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT teams for network-related issues
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours, if required
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including network access controls and data protection measures
Qualifications
We are interested in hearing from people who have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of network protocols/technologies
- Experience with network equipment from vendors, such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Riverbed and F5
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
