About the Role

The Digital & Information Services Branch delivers agile and transformative information and technology, enabling Council to be a leader in providing innovative and sustainable services to its communities.

As part of Council’s crucial services, the Network Engineer provides high level technical support for Council’s IT Network infrastructure, provide support for IT Infrastructure projects, and ensure support processes and 3rd party support arrangements are working.

Key duties - 

  • Provide high-level expertise, research and analysis, advice, and input as a key member of the broader network and project teams in relation to the procurement, design, support, and implementation of new Telecommunication & Network solutions. • 
  • Identify and resolve network and communication connectivity issues in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA) to aid the delivery of consistent, high-quality services.
  • Manage the installation of network and telecommunication services.

About you

You will hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline and/or substantial experience in an Information Technology & Communications environment. 

As someone with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills you will be capable of building effective relationships, negotiation, conflict resolution and assertiveness to resolve issues and meet changing organisational needs. You will possess Cisco Certified qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience in management of a similar network platform as to Councils network environment.

As a requirement of this role, you must be willing to work outside of business hours for on-call arrangements. This includes system maintenance and equipment installations. Candidates must also hold a Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence
