The Security & Network Engineer is a member of the Infrastructure Support team providing expert (L3) support for the organisations IT Infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor network performance and capacity and forecasts activities to address Institute requirements so WAN and LAN capacity is never exceeded.
- Maintain documentation of the network infrastructure and recommend improvements to network management.
- Ensure all network devices are kept up-to-date with security patches and updates.
- Manage the Cisco Meraki WiFi network.
- Maintain the DMZ network and ensure appropriate firewall rules are in place.
- Monitor and optimise internet traffic.
- Maintain the Cisco ISE environment and ensure relevant security policies are in place.
- Maintain the OSPF, EiGRP, BGP and MPLS network.
- Manage the data centre network and top of rack networking.
- Monitor and be responsible for incidents/requests assigned to the team queue from the IT Service desk.
- Preparation of design, build, implementation and test documentation.
- Collaborate and work closely with a range of internal stakeholders, external customers, external service providers, and vendors.
Experience with Nexus and Catalyst 9K switches, Load Balancers, Firewalls and SIEM products.
- Palo Alto or FortiGate firewall experience
- Cisco FirePOWER / ASA
- Cisco Meraki
- CCNP
