New Graduate Program Late 2024
We're looking for new Graduate Speech Pathologists to join our team in the latter quarter of 2024 (Approx October to December)
About the Role:
At Ascend Health, our therapists collaborate with university students functioning as disability support workers and carers. Our unique model empowers students to evolve from support workers to therapy assistants and ultimately, therapists.
As a therapist, you'll work a minimum of 4 days a week, with a minimum of 3 community sessions every day. In between, dedicate time to coaching and training students and managing community support services. Enjoy a hands-on role in member management (we call our patients members), teaching your methods to students, and contributing to community, disability, personal care, and mental health services.
Responsibilities:For New Grads:
- Receive 1-on-1 supervision from a Senior Therapist weekly for the first 12 months, followed by fortnightly supervision for the next 12 months.
- Enjoy fortnightly professional development sessions.
- Benefit from a $2000 annual Flexible PD/Resource budget.
- Experience a 3-month caseload ramp-up.
- Engage in gamified pay increases every 3-4 months.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate therapeutic interventions for members experiencing disability.
- Provide consultation to members, families, carers, and professionals.
- Apply Good Practice principles and relevant legislation.
- Conduct initial assessments, participate in team meetings, and provide treatment planning recommendations.
- Ensure continuity of care through referrals.
- Support and mentor New Graduate therapists.
- Perform regular competency checks, record session notes via Ascend Health Plus.
- Prioritise patient safety and maintain a hazard-free workplace.
Remuneration Breakdown:
- $75k to $110k FTE Remuneration, dependent on session count (commission structure applies), consisting of:
- $70,000 Base Salary
- Approx $10,000-15,000 Bonus (at standard caseload and team size) up to $25,000 or more if high caseloads and team sizes achieved
- Between $6,0000 to $12,000 Travel allowance (at standard caseload, dependent on distance travelled)
- $2,000 annual external PD reimbursement
- PLUS Superannuation (11% = approximately $10,000 to $12,000)
- Pay increases every few months when milestones are achieved
- Bonus is for billables with percentage increase based on experience.

- Approx Time split: 70% community intervention, 30% training/guiding support team.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology.
- AHPRA Registration (OT, Physio) or SPA Membership (Speech Pathologists)
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
- National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
- Annual Flu Vaccination.
- NDIS Worker Screening or willingness to obtain
- COVID-19 Vaccination certification
- Valid Driver’s License and own car
