ABOUT THE POSITION:
As our existing Allied Health team continues to do amazing work, our referral base keeps quickly growing, creating opportunities to expand our allied health team in NSW. The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other people’s lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred services, working with a range of clients across a range of care needs from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs. This will involve, but is not limited to:
- assessing, diagnosing and managing clients who present with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders;
- participation in complex multidisciplinary assessments (e.g. FASD)
- providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development;
- working with low and high tech ACC.
The position is suitable for recent graduates - participating in a graduate program, including a tailored caseload, supervision and training.
The position will be based in Pennant Hills and will include some travel for specific client work around the Sydney metro area. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing. Opportunities for Regional and Interstate projects are available to our team of Speech Pathologists at times. This can range from working with a specific client or service in regional areas, to playing a role in exciting projects with remote communities in the Northern Territory.
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
Desirable Experience, Interest and Skills:
- Interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
- Interest in conducting Communication assessments, treatment planning and intervention for children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of presentations; and Mealtime Management.
Due to the nature of our business, it is required that our staff:
- have a current Driver’s Licence;
- have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to attain these checks;
- are willing to adhere to the Government requirements regarding vaccinations for workers in certain sectors.
