Keen to play a part in Australia’s energy transition?

Powering Australia is looking for ambitious and talented mid-career leaders looking to take the next step by building Australia’s clean-tech manufacturing ecosystem.

Powering Australia (PA) is a Federally funded Industry Growth Centre to help clean-tech manufacturers succeed by connecting businesses, accelerating commercialisation activity and building workforce capability.

THE ROLE

To help us deliver our ambitious mandate, we are seeking strategic and influential Node Leaders across five nodes in five states across the country.

The Node Leader will work with industry partners, a State Advisory Board, and a national Expert Advisory Board to achieve transformational outcomes for the state and their clean-tech sector. They will play a key role in shaping the emerging clean-tech business ecosystem by connecting, commercialising and building capability.

The Node Leader will report directly to the CEO, lead a small field office team exercising a high degree of initiative and autonomy, to deliver nationally impactful outcomes together with the other nodes and consistent with the agenda set by the Board.

This is an exciting and challenging position that requires a motivated leader who can work at both a strategic and tactical level and would ideally suit someone with 5-10 years’ experience in policy, business advisory or in member-based organisations. Experience in indigenous affairs is highly regarded. Roles are currently available in Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Grow clean-tech manufacturing in your state, using your knowledge, expertise and connections to help aspiring manufacturers grow to scale.

  • Lead the state and the Sector Advisory Committees, leveraging their knowledge and networks to achieve greater strategic impact.
  • Forge strong relationships with clean-tech industry associations, industry, government, to develop a supportive and coherent policy environment for renewable manufacturing.
  • Contribute to federal and state policy formation through in-person meetings and formally responding to consultations.
  • Create, maintain and analyse industry, capability and datasets.
  • Maintain close linkages with Head Office and interstate colleagues.
  • Other duties as directed to support the activities of PA.

ABOUT YOU

You have the knowledge and credibility to be relied upon as a sector expert, and can communicate a clear pathway on how to take your sector forward.

You are a passionate and recognised advocate for clean-technology, you understand the opportunity Australia has and can communicate what needs to be done at a system level to achieve meaningful change. You are comfortable working in small, distributed and diverse teams in a generalist, high performance environment.

BENEFITS

Team members will develop an influential network and take their career to the next level, making a meaningful difference and exercising a high degree of autonomy.

Benefits include:

  • Salary between $150-170,000 (including super) depending on experience.
  • Salary sacrifice benefits to maximize your earnings.
  • Flexible working conditions
  • Further professional development and learning to develop further knowledge of the clean-tech sector.

Interviews will be held between 18 -27 March for an immediate start.
