With a newly appointed Chair and long-serving Board members stepping down, the Board of Woodville Alliance is seeking up to three new Non-Executive Directors to help the organisation continue its growth trajectory, maintaining sustainability and achieving its strategic goals. With the other members of the Board, the new Non-Executive Directors will set the strategic direction for the organisation, provide cultural leadership, oversee compliance and the management of risk, and monitor performance in relation to agreed priorities and activities. The Non-Executive Directors of Woodville Alliance will bring energy, ideas and diligence at a significant time for the organisation’s growth and development.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Living the organisation’s Values and ensuring the activities of the organisation reflect and deliver on its Mission.
- Promoting a positive culture at the Board table, which encourages participation, facilitation of discussion and debate.
- Relationship building across the Board, management, and broader Woodville Alliance team.
- Promoting an environment that ensures contributions of all directors are welcomed and heard.
- Provide advice and counsel to the CEO.
About You
Woodville Alliance is seeking candidates with board experience but will also welcome candidates with significant senior management experience. Candidates will need to address how they will commit to and support the organisation’s positive, open and engaged Board culture. In addition, candidates will be expected to demonstrate:
- A good understanding and commitment to social justice principles.
- An understanding of the organisation’s strategic objectives and how the Board can support the achievement of these objectives.
The successful candidates will have at least one of the following areas of skill/qualification and experience, at a senior and strategic level:
- Senior commercial management experience in a social enterprise or not-for-profit.
- Formal accounting qualifications or equivalent senior executive experience in financial management and oversight.
- Senior experience in social policy setting or advocacy.
Woodville Alliance would particularly value candidates who, in addition to meeting the criteria outlined above, have lived disability experience. The organisation also welcomes candidates who are personally or professionally connected with local Western Sydney communities.
