POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head of NPD, the NPD Project Manager will lead the product development of Amenity brands and ensure timely project completion – you will not only encompass strong communication skills but will also add value to the organisation whilst being self-motivated and be open to learn. 

RESPONSIBILITES 

📝 PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• Develop project timeline with clear deadlines and assigned tasks to stakeholders
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure accountability and project deliverables are met
• Clearly communicate the project roadmap in weekly pipeline meeting covering project status and launch dates
• Provide feedback on project roadblocks so timelines can be re-evaluated and aligned to project, ensuring these are communicated to relevant stakeholders

🔬 INITIAL CONCEPT/FEASIBILITY

• Actively participate in kick off meetings providing an evaluation on project viability
• Develop NPD project plan based on brand requirements – taking into considering brand preferences on formulations, packaging, fragrance, etc. 
• Obtain three person sign off for concept – Product Development Lead, Brand Licensing Manager and Creative Studio
• Request quotations from manufacturer based on agreed requirements for the project and provide indicative pricing to Sales Team

💎 NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

• Ensure the product offering incorporates the principles embodied in the organisation’s Quality and Environmental policy.
• Ensure that both hardcopy and softcopy formats of documentation, at time of circulation / distribution, are accurate and filed as per existing conventions.   
• Send licensee brand retail samples to manufacturer and request amenities mock-up for initial review
• Source fragrance either locally or internationally
• Request formulation with selected fragrance from manufacturer – review internally – make variations as required before sending for brand approval
• Source packaging samples from manufacturer based on retail samples – working closely with internal Procurement Specialist
• Generate FIL sheet based on approved fragrance and formulation
• Develop document containing product ingredients and specifications
• Brief proposed packaging artwork into Creative Studio – make variations as required before sending to brand for sign off
• Provide updated quotation sheet to Sales Team on approved SKUs

🎯 TESTING & VALIDATION

• Initiate stability and compatibility testing with manufacturer
• Obtain regulatory approval for FIL sheets and confirm any other legislative requirements

👏🏽 FINALISING OF NPD PROJECT

• Sign off on Finished Goods Sample to send to brand for approval – make variations as requested by the brand
• Populate Item Master Data Template with approved SKUs for upload into SAP
• Label and sort all product samples to ensure correct QC & QA to be used as reference for mass production

🤼‍♀️ STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

• Maintain high level of professionalism and motivational spirit with stakeholders at all times
• Be a confident decision maker, in situations of ambiguity and clearly convey the reasoning for your decision
• Manage upwards, articulating delays/roadblocks to your line manager initially with a solution focused approach ~ do so at earliest possible time, to ensure mitigation can be executed as effectively as possible. 

⭐ ABOUT YOU

• Candidate must be able to write and speak fluent Mandarin
• Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in a similar role 
• Previous experience in beauty NPD is highly desirable 
• Advanced MS office skills along with Smart sheet  and Asana software experience being well regarded
• Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects end-to-end with strong attention to detail
• Highly developed communication, organisational and time management skills
• Collaborative approach to project management  
• Evidenced ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams, bringing them on the journey and holding them to account for assigned deliverables
