The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the effective delivery of training and support to Assured Home Care’s staff, delivered in both a classroom setting and in a small group or one-on-one basis. Within the classroom, training involves delivery of mandated training related to medication management, seizure management, etc. Training is also provided to individuals in specific techniques related to client needs. In these cases, the Clinical Nurse delegates Level 3 health supports.
Working closely with the Client Services team, the Clinical Nurse supports service delivery to clients through review of medication management and procedures, review of client notes (as they relate to medication and delegated care) and in administering medication of other treatment to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct home visits to assess the requirements and needs of clients upon request
Provide consulting and coaching to staff in relation to specific cases or aspects of clinical practice
Conduct home visits to support client specific training of Support Workers.
Occasional regional travel and working away from home required.
Provide training in medication management, manual handling and other health care related fields required and relevant to AHC’s clients.
To be successful in the role you will have
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Current AHPRA registration and evidence of recent practice.
- Evidence of a strong Nursing knowledge
- A sound knowledge of the NDIS
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with other members of the Community Services team in the provision of care
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, liaise and network with a range of services and other health agencies.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable qualifications/skills
- Training Certificate, equivalent to Level IV (or willing to work towards).
- Post graduate qualification in other relevant/specific area of clinical practice.
- A sound understanding of clinical practice as it relates to disability and/or aged care clients in a community setting.
- Experience in a role that involves Community Nursing
