What you'll be doing
The Patient Flow Manager will effectively manage resources, ensuring optimal patient outcomes by promoting best practice through facility capacity/ demand management processes, staff development and research. The Patient Flow Manager provides leadership and management to the Patient Flow Team.
The position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Operations (operationally) and the Director of nursing (professionally) and liaises closely with Program Directors, Department heads, Admissions, clerical staff, medical staff, allied health and NSW Ambulance.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Tertiary qualifications in management or related discipline and extensive clinical and Patient Flow experience in a tertiary hospital.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, direct and lead a committed team to achieve organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture internal and external relationships through highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in change management, negotiating competing interests and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively within designated time frames and budgets.
