About You:
Reporting to Acting Associate Director of Perioperative Services, the Nurse Unit Manager will lead, manage, and run our busy Endoscopy Unit. The role is is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective operating services that achieve optimal patient outcomes care of Endoscopy team. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care in accordance with legislative requirements and professional guidelines. The successful candidate will manage the resources within its discipline mix and will provide management, mentorship, and support in the achievement of excellence in nursing practice.

Key Accountabilities of the role include (not limited to):
- Provide leadership to all staff in the nursing team to support their professional growth, development and integration into the multi-disciplinary care team
- Provide effective, efficient coordination of services for patients throughout the hospital across the continuum of care
- Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of Endoscopy Unit's operational plan
- Collaborating with other health professionals within MQ Health in developing, monitoring and reporting key clinical indicators
- Maintain progressive and effective documentation in accordance with industrial standards and best practice.
- Support and promote the establishment of effective communication mechanisms between patients and the multidisciplinary team
- Ensure that nursing practice is compliant with the NSW Health, Macquarie University Hospital policies, and procedures and best practice guidelines
- Promote quality activities and coordinate quality improvement initiatives to maintain a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage, assess and develop staff e.g. development, implementation and review of Induction and education programs, Performance Reviews to meet individual needs and achieve organisational goals
- Recruit nursing staff and implement strategies to retain and promote nursing staff
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the industrial award as it applies to staff entitlements, working conditions and rosters
- Exercise leadership and due diligence in Work, Health, and Safety matters
- Participate in relevant leadership committees and forums throughout the hospital representing the interests of the nursing services and providing feedback to staff.
- Develop and facilitate strategies to build and maintain a cohesive clinical team to support collaborative, patient focused care

- Previous management experience within Endoscopy or Perioperative Service
- Post graduate management qualifications or working towards
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
