The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Unit Manager (Mental Health - Hospital in the Home) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Work as part of the team to provide evidence-based best practice, clinical advice, direction and problem solving, clear goal setting and prioritisation of clinical services for consumers and their carers
- Provide clear and consistent leadership for all aspects of the MH - HITH Model of Service
- Take responsibility for the coordination of MH-HITH clinical services, including referrals, intakes, assessments, home visits and treatment that promotes the health and wellbeing of our consumers and families
- Leade the co-ordination of care within the Home environment enabling consumers to maintain their daily routines and relationships
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses, or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental health nursing
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $128 701 - $139 732 per annum

Hospital in the Home provides an alternative to an inpatient hospital admission, which allows MHSS to offer a more person-centred option to admission for Mental Health consumers within their home setting. HiTH acts as an alternative to inpatient hospital admission where the intensity and type of care provided in an admitted service is offered but allows for greater flexibility to meet the patient's preferences and facilitates maintenance of supports and links within the community.
