About UsThe Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.The Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH) delivers almost a quarter of all babies born in the state of SA. The WCH Neonatal Service provides care at all levels to babies born within WCH, other hospitals in SA and interstate areas such as Mildura, Broken Hill and Alice Springs.Neonatal Services (incorporating Neonatal Intensive care and Neonatal Special Care) at the WCH is unlike most others in Australia because of the broad spectrum of newborns it receives and cares for. It is the largest Neonatal service in SA providing a high acuity medical and surgical service, some of which are not available anywhere else in the state.Neonatal Services works closely with other WCH paediatric subspecialties and allied health departments.   • Provide the pivotal leadership and co-ordination of patient care delivery.
  • Provide leadership and direction, act as a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person.
  • Maintain productive working relationships and manage conflict resolution.
  • Develop and maintain a learning environment, taking a coaching approach to team development, individual capability development and performance development.

  • Registered Nurse and / or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability for flexibility, innovation and creativity within the whole of service setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential.
  • Knowledge of contemporary professional nursing and or midwifery and health care issues.
