NURSERY HAND

Blue Sky Nursery is a busy wholesale nursery supplying trees/plants to both the landscape and retail markets based in North Arm on the Sunshine Coast.

We require experienced Nursery Hands (multiple positions) with proven industry experience or horticultural knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge. 

Key position requirements:

• Good knowledge of general nursery plant species grown within industry
• Good knowledge of production tasks including potting, fertilizing, plant care, weeding, staking, watering and maintenance.
• The ability to achieve production KPI's and quality control targets.
• The ability to work as part of a team or individually.
• Ability to follow direction.
• Physically fit - the role can require long periods of standing and being active for most of the day.
• The ability to work in all weather conditions such as heat, cold and rain.
• A love of plants is essential.
• A Cert. 3 in Horticulture or above is beneficial but not essential.
• An understanding of AS 2303:2015 /NATSPEC would be highly regarded but not essential.

All applicants must have their own transport.

All positions will become full time after a successful 3 month casual probation and based on a 38 hour week.

Work hours are Monday to Thursday 6.30 to 3.10 and Fridays 6.30 to 12.40. These hours include a 20 minute morning tea break and a 30 minute lunch break.

The rate of pay will be determined by the successful applicant/s level of skill as per the national Nursery Award.
