At Patches, we provide comprehensive assessment, consulting, and therapy services to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders in regional and remote areas. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Therapy services, ensuring the highest standards of care and service excellence.
A typical day in the role may look like…
Provide face-to-face or Telehealth services to our participants from our Broome office.
Work with a paediatric caseload.
In addition to the above, you will provide Occupational Therapy services to our participants in their homes, schools, or community centres within the Broome area.
Monthly or fortnightly outreach trips within the Kimberley and Derby regions to provide face-to-face services to our regional participants.
Regular multidisciplinary meetings with other Patches’ disciplines to optimise holistic care and multidisciplinary goal setting for participants.
Complete relevant non-face-to-face work, including writing progress notes, resource preparation and report writing.
Support from OT colleagues that provide experience in remote service, technology prescription, paediatric home modifications, mealtime support, relational therapy, behaviour support, and sensory processing approaches
Patches prioritises evidence-based practice and a parent-child relational model.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience and knowledge of the disability sector, particularly working within the NDIS.
Experience working with a paediatric and/or youth background, including practical knowledge of current developmental assessments, tools, and intervention.
Relevant professional registration
National Police Clearance
Working with Children Check
NDIS Worker Screening Check
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Australian Driver’s License
Proof of Work rights (Australian Passport/ Citizenship certificate, or a Valid Visa)
