MARS Healthcare are currently in search of an experienced Occupational Therapist to take up a position within a historic and notable aged care community services organisation in Rockhampton.
This role is ideally seeking a permanent full or part time OT but they would also consider a fixed term contractor.
They are offering a salary of up to to $100,000 per annum (commensurate with experience) plus superannuation, salary packaging, and potential relocation allowance.

Position Overview:
This organisation require a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions to optimise the functional abilities and overall well-being of their elderly residents.
This position offers flexibility in terms of full-time, part-time, or fixed-term contract arrangements to suit the candidate's preferences and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the functional status, physical and cognitive abilities, and safety needs of elderly residents.
- Develop individualised treatment plans and goals in collaboration with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address areas such as activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, self-care skills, cognitive functioning, and environmental adaptations.
- Implement therapeutic activities, exercises, and techniques to improve functional independence, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life.
- Utilise assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and technology to support residents in overcoming barriers and achieving their goals.
- Monitor and document residents' progress, response to therapy, and any changes in functional status or safety concerns.
- Educate residents, family members, and staff on strategies for maximizing independence, preventing falls, and promoting overall well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care delivery.
- Stay informed about best practices, emerging trends, and advancements in the field of geriatric occupational therapy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Previous experience working with elderly individuals in an aged care or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and therapeutic skills, with proficiency in developing and implementing individualized care plans.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement.
