Offshore Resource Manager, SydneyAs the Offshore Resource Manager at Nexon, Sydney, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the activities of our contracted offshore teams across multiple locations. This position acts as a vital link between our onshore teams across various departments and our Offshore Resources, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with Nexonu0027s strategic goals and objectives.
The role requires a proactive approach to managing the offshore teams, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational and project management capabilities, and the ability to effectively navigate cross-cultural environments.Key Responsibilities:Offshore Team Management: Oversee the daily operations, workflow, and activities of the offshore teams, including monitoring job logging requests, workflow forecasting, and ensuring tasks are completed within set deadlines.
Communication Hub: Serve as the primary point of contact for all communications between onshore teams in Australia and offshore teams, facilitating clear and efficient interactions.
Issue Resolution: Act as the first point of escalation for any offshore issues related to access, IT, performance, etc., ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for offshore team members, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into Nexonu0027s operations including relevant security checks.
Performance Reporting: Provide regular reports to people leaders and senior management on the performance, productivity, and quality of work of the offshore teams.
Cross-Resourcing: Identify and implement cross-resourcing opportunities for the offshore team across different functions within Nexon, optimizing resource utilization and enhancing service delivery.
Compliance: Ensure that HR activities for offshore teams, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws, are followed, alongside the development of HR policies and procedures.
Change Management: Facilitate change initiatives, guiding offshore teams through transitions with clear communication, training, and support to ensure minimal disruption and positive outcomes.
HR Practices: Align HR practices with the needs of offshore operations, continuously updating and improving practices to meet best standards.
Cultural training. Provide cross-cultural awareness training to onshore and offshore teams to foster collaboration and inclusivity. Respect cultural nuances.
Feedback & Improvement: Regularly review feedback from the offshore teams, investigating any queries or complaints, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance operations and team satisfaction.
Equipment: Ensure the offshore location has the necessary technology, equipment, and infrastructure to do the work. This includes computers, software, security, internet bandwidth, electricity backup, etc.
Compliance/Reporting: Report back to executives on status of project including key activities and risks.
Transition support: Work with the team leaders to populate a detailed plan for transitioning work and knowledge transfer. Plan and Budget for key onshore staff to train the new offshore team and make sure they are set up for success.
Project Management. Make sure there are clear goals, workflows, reporting lines and oversight to keep projects and BAU on track.
Travel budget. Allow for periodic visits between onshore and offshore teams to align and strengthen working relationships.Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a resource or operations management role, with a focus on managing offshore teams.
  • Strong understanding of the cultural and operational dynamics of working with international teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational processes and efficiency improvements.
