Good Constructions

Good Constructions was established by Jolyon and Jayne Good in 1995. For over 25 years, we have specialised in building and renovating high-end custom homes and commercial projects throughout Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Our experience building high-end architectural homes has given us a solid foundation on which to build our Retirement Living business. The Good Constructions team has built up the technical expertise learned from complex buildings and managing large, multifaceted projects. We began working with retirement living operators and managers in 2015. This is now the sole focus of our business, which operates throughout Victoria and NSW Mid North Coast.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide safety advice and mentoring to management.
  • Ensure all staff, contractors and the public maintain safe work practices in and around the office, warehouse, car park, and workplace when operating plant, equipment, and vehicles by implementing policy, process, and procedure.
  • Manage documentation and procedures for workplace evacuation, fire safety, first aid, and incidents or injuries.
  • Ensure that Good Constructions' operations comply with client OHS requirements, the Work Safe Victoria and Government Health and Safety Acts, and regulations through implemented policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain OHS policy, process, and procedure for onboarding all subcontractors and suppliers, including collating relevant documentation, insurance, and operating licences as per government regulation and client policy.
  • Document and monitor OHS performance management and practices for new suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage CM3 compliance and provide reports to senior management as required.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with the OHS system, issue notices for noncompliance and report events to management.
  • Maintain incident, injury, and near-miss Lost Time Injury (LTI) register and provide monthly reports to management.
  • Manage HIA compliance and QR scan system.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Minimum Diploma of Work Health and Safety or relevant industry training and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant OHS legislation and regulations in Victoria, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and associated regulations.
  • Effective communication skills to relay safety information, policies, and procedures to all levels within the organisation.
  • Knowledge of OHS documentation requirements, including maintaining accurate records, incident reports, and statutory reporting.
  • Experience in various Business Systems to assist team members in leveraging automation for the reporting and monitoring of projects, registrations and compliance.
  • Ability to assess risks associated with construction activities and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • High level of computer and software skills.
