We are dedicated to serving students from Years 2 to 12, specializing in both Mathematics and English disciplines.
Position Overview:
Employing the Australian curriculum as a foundational framework, conduct meticulously planned one-hour instructional sessions in a virtual setting, catering to individual or small group dynamics.
Subjects Covered:
- Mathematics and English: Primary level spanning from Year 2 to Year 6
- Secondary Mathematics and English: Encompassing Years 7 to 10
- VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) Curriculum:
- General Mathematics Units 1 through 4
- Mathematical Methods Units 1 through 4
- Specialist Mathematics Units 1 through 4
- English
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' aptitudes and administer sessions according to pre-set instructional plans.
- Tailor sessions to address the specific academic needs and objectives of each student.
- Elicit feedback from students regarding areas of difficulty or those necessitating further exploration.
- Assign homework pertinent to lesson content and review completed assignments, addressing any inaccuracies comprehensively.
- Employ established pedagogical aids to equip students for upcoming assessments.
- Maintain detailed session records for future reference and furnish written feedback to parents or guardians as needed.
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a recognized teaching qualification or be a university student with a distinguished academic record (high ATAR) coupled with a minimum of four years of tutoring experience including online tutoring.
- Exemplify prompt and effective communication skills, ensuring responsiveness to all forms of correspondence within a reasonable timeframe.
- Possess an authenticated Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet account for seamless session delivery.
- Offer a minimum of four hours of weekly availability, prioritizing peak tutoring hours (4 pm - 8 pm Monday to Friday and weekends).
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and impeccable personal presentation along with exceptional communication skills.
Prerequisites:
- Equipped with a personal computer, robust internet connectivity, digital writing pad, and headset.
- Commitment to timely communication via email, text, and phone throughout the tenure.
- Reside in Australia with full employment rights and possess a valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC), Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or equivalent certification.
- Possess an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be capable of invoicing for conducted sessions inclusive of GST.
