About the Division
School & Regional Services is responsible for implementing government learning and development strategies through networks of government schools and early childhood providers. Multi-disciplinary teams across areas and divisions work collaboratively across the region to:
- Deliver high quality education and early childhood services that are responsive to local needs.
- Improve early childhood service and school outcomes and performance across the region.
- Provide coordination and oversight of the delivery of services that support the health, wellbeing and engagement of children and young people to enable them to learn and develop to their full potential.
About the Role
The Department of Education is hiring an Administration Officer to join their regional team. Reporting to the Manager, Planning, and Implementation, the candidate will collaborate with colleagues and the School Improvement Project Support Officer. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, adapting to different situations, and maintaining discretion, confidentiality, integrity, and initiative. The role is crucial for the Area's effective operations, involving independent work, frequent contact with Department employees and the community, and demands flexibility. Key responsibilities include office/facilities management, records management, procurement, general administration support, and program administration support.
Capabilities
We are looking for an Administration Officer who possesses key capabilities such as flexibility, adaptability, collaborative teamwork, a future-oriented mindset, critical problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. The preferred candidate should embrace new ideas, foster a cooperative team environment, consider future goals, exercise critical thinking, and tailor communication to various audiences. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate planning, organization, and attention to detail, effective relationship building, initiative, accountability, self-management, and proficiency in verbal and written communication. The ability to manage resources efficiently for optimal work delivery is also crucial.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- MS 365 knowledge (full suite)
- Prior experience about the functions described above is desirable.
