Do-Op Shop is a non-religious registered charity that focuses on community, connection, and sustainability. We owe our success to the commitment of our supporters, our team and the amazing people who donate and shop with us. As a company, we focus on creating an equitable, inclusive, fun and engaging environment for our people while giving back to local initiatives, groups and those in need.
We currently have 2 roles available, one in our new store opening soon at Wynnum and one in our Annerley store (sewing skills are a must)!….we also will have some part-time roles in Wynnum must be available weekends.
Job Summary
As the ultimate leader of the store, a Store Manager is accountable for every aspect of the store performance. Do-Op is a diverse environment where your multi-tasking and initiative skills will be used continuously. Donations continually flow through the door and need to be processed, managed, and merchandised while keeping up the vibe and supporting an awesome team of volunteers and employees.
Core Responsibilities of the Job
Leadership and People Management
- Create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment and culture by welcoming and celebrating differences to ensure a supportive, productive, and fun experience for all volunteers and employees.
- Establish a vision for the store, based on key metrics and available resources, and cascade to all team members.
- Manage the store’s volunteer list to build a strong and diverse team that includes team members with various experiences, backgrounds, and skillsets.
- Address all team concerns and issues, including knowing when to partner with internal support to take appropriate action.
Operations, Product, and Strategy
- Drive overall store visual merchandising, product strategy, and CRM profiles.
- Manage sell-through by monitoring donation levels and adjusting price to meet supply and demand.
- Understand and adhere to people safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws or regulations.
Budget Responsibility
- Accountable for controllable budget; team schedule; key performance indicators
Eligibility
- Must be legally authorised to work in Australia
- Must have the ability to travel to assigned store with reliable transportation
Experience
- Retail and or fashion experience an advantage
- Must be a genuinely caring person with a “pay it forward” attitude
- The ability to multi-task is essential
On Offer
- Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Sunday roster
- 9am – 4pm store opening, ability to work from home for balance of hours
