Hays is seeking Expressions of Interest for a temporary assignment as an Operational Excellence Specialist.
About the role:
This temporary assignment will be with a tier 1 mining company that is a global leader in the production of copper, nickel and Iron Ore. The anticipated duration is 6 to 12 months with permanent opportunities, based on performance.
The Operational Excellence Specialist role is a great opportunity to work within the broader improvement community, while exposing yourself to everyday operational challenges and further developing your Mining Industry acumen and network.
Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable improvement;
- Drive continuous improvement and embed sustainable capability and maturity of the Operating System from frontline to leadership;
- Assess and recommend focus areas and activities with a focus on unlocking value and removing processes waste;
- Facilitate collaborative problem-solving sessions with the frontline and leaders to identify and solve problems at the root cause;
- Continue to guide and work with relevant stakeholders to build, test and deploy practical solutions to improve work methods;
- Work collaboratively with a broad stakeholder customer base to identify and manage key safety, culture, cost and productivity improvement projects.
- High level of demonstrated teamwork skills, curiosity, proactiveness and a positive can-do attitude;
- High level of demonstrated power of influence and resilience;
- Critically observing, coaching and providing feedback on improved ways of working;
- Ability to engage with all levels of the business, from frontline employees to higher level management;
- Strong critical reasoning and ability to facilitate problem-solving sessions to identify the root cause of problems and explore opportunities to implement Continuous Improvement tools;
- Good analytical skills and ability to synthesise operational data into risks, insights and recommendations;
- Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement experience will be highly regarded;
- Mining operational background preferred;
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, if applicable;
- A current National Police Check;
- Full Australian working rights;
- Currently reside in Western Australia.
