About the role:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee Operational Readiness (OR) activities in a detailed resource-loaded schedule, with dependencies and critical paths linked to project milestones, ensuring a smooth and safe transition to Operations, on-time and on-budget. Continuous update of OR schedule, understanding progress of activities against deadlines to flag early intervention where the schedule is at risk.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain detailed OR schedules, incorporating timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Ensure alignment of scope, objectives, and schedule with OR teams, project managers, operational teams, and all relevant stakeholders.
- Keep track of project deadlines and schedules and identify/escalate potential delays in the deliverables' timeline.
- Establish assignments, activities, and associated tasks by conferring with project managers and technical specialists.
- Propose strategies for maintaining projects on time and within allocated resources.
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes and mitigate risks.
- Analyse project data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between project teams and other departments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
- Develop and communicate insights that guide data-driven action and decision-making.
- Source information, plan and conduct analyses to support evidence-based decision-making.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project scheduling.
- Strong understanding of Operational Readiness and/or operations in the mining industry.
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project).
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good time management and organisational abilities.
- Confident with seeking further information to ensure understanding where required.
- Confident with seeking guidance when lacking direction or information, and with escalating risks and issues to team leaders.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and/or a drug/alcohol screening;
- Full Australian working rights;
- Currently reside in Western Australia, as flights are from Perth.
