Operations and Logistics Coordinator

A highly respected locally and family-owned Bulk Fuel Transport Specialist which has been operating and servicing Queensland and Northern New South Wales for over 20 years, is seeking a full-time, permanent Operations and Logistics Coordinator to join their busy team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations and Logistics Coordinator will be integral in assisting the company’s operations including scheduling of deliveries, administration and the continual improvement of the organisation’s Health, Safety and Environmental culture and performance, as well as ensuring policy, procedural, NVHR and Chain of Responsibility compliance.
Key responsibilities include:

• Receive orders via email/phone and assist in organising daily schedule of deliveries, both local and interstate, (including scheduling Drivers) for all deliveries with an aim to maximise efficiency.
• Maintain strong relationships with key service clients.
• Trouble shoot any issues relating to the delivery schedule or driver, during and outside of business hours (Rostered on call requirement).
• Assist with the administration of Operations.
• Assist Director/ Manager with managing and reporting on business NHVAS, Mass, Maintenance and Fatigue systems and processes.
• Provide regular reporting on issues, budgets, customer contracts, and other items as instructed
• Assist in maintaining the HSEQ system
• Identifying workplace hazards, assessing risks and implementing measures to reduce and prevent risks
• Providing ongoing support to drivers in relation to NHVR driving hours (fatigue management)Assist in maintaining records in relation to driver qualifications, inductions, and licences
• Assist in implementing and monitoring Quality Assurance policies and procedures
• Performing operational and procedural driver checks to assess skills and WHS requirements
• Maintaining currency in legislation, standards, guidelines, and codes of practice that will impact fatigue management

Applicants for this role should have the following skills and experience:  

• A Certificate IV in Logistics, Safety or related degree qualification (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to safety and compliance in the workplace
• A current Drivers Licence is essential; MC licence desirable (but not essential)
• Intermediate computer skills
• Transport industry knowledge and experience is highly advantageous
