Reporting to the Commercial Manager - Manufacturing, the Operations Controller - Australia will play a pivotal role in driving and managing the financial performance and accountability of the site.
The primary focus will be on enhancing decision-making processes by providing comprehensive financial and operational reporting, analysis, cost management, and support to the Site Management team, the Supply Lead team, and the Commercial teams.
About the role:
This role is instrumental in providing independent financial support, offering insights into the profitability of products and business proposals, and contributing to the future development of our organisation through sound financial advice and improved systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Business partnering with Springvale Operations to drive profit improvement, providing quality commercial analytics, making recommendations, and driving performance improvement processes.
Managing the accounting for inventory valuation and stock control to ensure accurate inventory, COGS valuation, and product costing.
Facilitating the monthly planning cycle (IBP process) and analysing and explaining deviations to previous plans.
Month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing, encompassing responsibility for the Operations P&L, including reporting and analysis of planned and actual financial performance.
Improving commercial understanding and performance across the business by providing a clear understanding of results and drivers to business owners, challenging plans appropriately, and influence future plans.
Demonstrating leadership by building relevant models to highlight more efficient business operations and playing a lead role in profit improvement.
Ensuring conformance with internal control procedures and maintaining accurate general ledger records.
Experience and Qualification Requirements:
Accounting Degree
CPA or equivalent qualification or studying towards
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with a large ERP system
Knowledge of accounting standards
Experience in similar roles within a manufacturing organisation
Experience in an FMCG organization desirable
Financial analysis skills
Manufacturing reporting and analysis
Manufacturing KPI development and implementation
Budgeting, forecasting, and planning
Direct exposure to standard product costing and inventory valuation
